Twan Brusselman

Name: Twan Brusselman

Date of Birth: 15-8-1993

Nationality: NED

I started cycling when I was 7 years old at the local cycling club Buitenlust in Helmond. The idea of starting cycling came from my granddad who was a cyclist himself. I combined cyclocross and road racing until the U23 category. When I first joined the U23 ranks I focussed on road racing, after 2 years I joined Cycling Team Jo Piels. After a few years DESTIL and Parkhotel Valkenburg took over and here we are now.

My goal for the next year is to focus on becoming pro at the end of the season. In order to the pro ranks I need a solid season and a few wins. Besides my personal goals I look forward to helping the younger guys develop in race tactics. I hope for a great year with lots of sportive highs.

My name is Tim Kerkhof l am 24 years old and I am from Nistelrode. I am riding push bikes for 12 years now. During my time on the bike I experienced a lot of highs. In 2014 I became Dutch national champion U23. The year after I turned pro at team Roompot. 2015 was also a great year for me I started the U23 world championships in Richmond and I finished 14th. 2017 was the year I joined the team with the main focus on getting back to the pro ranks. For the 2018 season that goal remains. Winning races is a goal that goes along well with that. Most importantly we win together.

Timo de Jong

Name: Timo de Jong

Date of Birth: 28-3-1999

Nationality: NED

I am Timo de Jong, 18 years old and living with my parents and dog in Goes.

Started cycling at 8 years old , in our neighbourhood there were races on a normal bike, ‘’Dikke Banden Wedstrijden’’ as they were called. In 2007 I became Dutch champion Dikke Banden and I got my first racebike. In the beginning I was also playing football, the love and passion for cycling made me decide to go for cycling only. I have never regretted it, cycling brought me to a lot of places and has given me many international friends.

I began competitive cycling at age 8 as a member of ZRTC Theo Middelkamp. When I became a second year U17, I made the transfer to ACROG Balen BC in Belgium, where I could ride a great program and could learn more in big races. They give me the trust to learn, grow and develop myself as a rider.

My junior time I also rode for them and learned a lot, with ups and downs

In 2016 my greatest victory was the Tour of Flanders for Juniors.

2017 brought me 7 victories and the general clasification in Vuelta Ribera del Duero in Spain. I also won the green jersey in Tour de Vallee. And got selected for the Dutch National Team.

I am a Classic rider. Who would like to further develop in Time trail, and keep learning and grow in the races. With the development, trust, staff and program of Destil- Parkhotel Valkenburg this is a step in the right direction to become professional cyclist.

Name: Maarten van Trijp

Date of Birth: 6-10-1993

Nationality: NED

I started cycling when I was 7 year old I just did little rides with my dad. After that I did my first cyclocross race with friends. Those races went really well so when I turned 9 I started racing on the road.
Next year I just try to get the best result as possible to reach my big goal “to become a pro next year.”
My career till now was quite hard due to lots and lots of bad luck such as physical issues. During the spring of 2017 I felt really strong and at my best for the first time. This translated in some very good results it is a shame that a crushed collarbone messed up the summer.
Next year I want to win races and race myself into a spot at the pro peloton.

Name: Lars Oreel

Date of Birth: 23-8-1999

Nationality: NED

I am 18 years old and I live in Goes. I am currently in my last year of my pre-universal education. I played football until I was 13 years old than I started cycling. In my first two years I raced for a local club ZRTC Theo Middelkamp. After those years I joined Van Moer Logistics where I rode with lots of joy until this winter. I look back on those years with pride because of all the races I could win, but also the other good results bring me joy such as podium spots at UCI races and a third place at the Nationals. This year I will be a U23 rider and I will be a proud member of DESTIL-Parkhotel Valkenburg CT. Because it is such a big step from U19 to U23 I find it quite hard to set specific goals. I Hope to give my outmost best and I hope you will support me this year at the races.
