Robin Blummel takes the win in the Omloop van Valkenswaard after great teamwork

The omloop van Valkenswaard was an U23 race over cobbles and dirt sections. From the start the DESTIL-Parkhotel riders set a high pace and Maik van der Heijden sat up to let Robin Blummel ride away with 2 other riders. Timo de Jong saw the opportunity and bridged across along with Bryan Bouwans of Metec-TKH. The five worked well together and managed to stay clear of the chasing peloton.

The peloton later split and Lars Oreel was in the first part and rode a great race. He later finished seventh behind the five leaders who stayed clear. Timo de Jong tried to get away in the final kilometres but was caught. Timo still had the legs to squeeze in a great lead-out for Robin Blummel who took the win with an impressive sprint. Timo came home 4th. ‘’I want to thank the whole team for the work they did for me today and also thank you to Giant store Milsbeek for the tyres. There were zero punctures for our team today.’’ Says Robin Blummel.

Altogether it was a great race for the team with Robin his win and a 4th and 7th place.
